Peosta council approves multiple infrastructure and maintenance measures

The Peosta City Council approved several infrastructure and maintenance resolutions during its April meeting.
The council passed a 28E roadway improvement agreement with the county for a mill-and-overlay on Peosta Street; the project will reduce traffic to one lane during construction and is expected to be let this month for work this summer. The council also approved a Germaine Electric proposal dated April 4, 2025, to replace lamp fixtures and an East Iowa Construction proposal dated March 25, 2025, for materials for a batting cage pad project—both items were discussed at the work session and approved by resolution.
Separately, the council approved a resolution scheduling a public hearing to amend the zoning code, set for April 22. For the roadway project staff noted an anticipated county letting timeline and said funds and cost-share numbers were in line with expectations; the council said a pending grant decision could reduce the city’s share by $25,000.
Council members moved through these items with limited debate and the presiding officer announced the motions carried.
