On energy improvements, Stacy reported multiple LED retrofit quotes and said Alliant has increased its rebate program; the LED project under consideration carries a rough cost estimate of about $14,148, which staff proposed funding from remaining remodel bond funds.
Parks updates included a recommendation to replace turf at a worn batting cage; the low bid came from East Iowa and the additional turf cost was described as roughly $3,500. Stacy said funds are available in the capital budget because prior sprinkler work came in under estimate. Kelly Park playground installation was scheduled the week after Easter (weather permitting); staff installed a drain to address a prior water issue.
Stacy also said Thunder Valley base work may begin the week of April 14 and that staff will ask the contractor for timely scheduling updates before any shutdowns.
Council took no formal votes on these items; staff will proceed with procurement consistent with the capital budget and return any items requiring formal council action.
