At its Aug. 26 meeting the Saugatuck City Council approved several routine and project items unanimously. The council authorized the Consumers Energy Tree Planting Agreement and authorized the mayor and clerk to sign the agreement; approved a Metro Wireless proposal to provide Wi‑Fi service at Oval Beach; and voted to pay $602,485.62 in accounts payable.
Council also appointed Judy Thiel to the Parks & Public Works Committee for a term ending Aug. 1, 2026. In departmental updates, KLSWA reported routine maintenance and system‑inspection planning, including a $11,500 cleaning proposal for the ferric chloride feed system and a near‑completion generator project, and the Fire District discussed tagging hydrants by flow level and improved Ferry Street closures for emergency access.
