The Town of Natick COA Health Workgroup on Feb. 11, 2026 discussed planning steps for a proposed annual Healthy Active Aging Week and a companion Healthy Learning Series aimed at older residents.
Members considered linking existing Town programming with outside partners, including the International Council on Active Aging (ICAA), and discussed forming outreach partnerships and survey mechanisms to solicit client priorities. The workgroup reviewed neighboring towns’ programming to identify models and planned next steps for comparing offerings in nearby communities. The Strategic Planning Subcommittee was cited as the group that will prepare proposals for consideration by the full workgroup.
Discussion items included four concrete ideas: developing an annual Healthy Active Aging Week that combines local offerings with services such as those from ICAA; launching a Healthy Learning Series with possible monthly themes; proactive outreach to community partners to support programming and participation; and creating ‘‘bottom-up’’ survey tools to capture residents’ priorities before finalizing program content. Workgroup members also spoke about drafting a Vision, Mission and Goals statement to guide programming and outreach decisions.
No formal vote or program adoption was recorded in the minutes for Feb. 11; the record shows these topics were under active review and will be further developed by the Strategic Planning Subcommittee and discussed at subsequent meetings.
