Saugatuck council approves $698,542.84 in payments, a managed IT services contract and a water advisory committee

The Saugatuck City Council approved a series of administrative and financial actions at its Aug. 12 meeting, including accounts payable of $698,542.84, adoption of an IT managed services agreement and creation of a water-systems advisory committee.

On a motion by Councilmember Muncey, seconded by Councilmember Dean, the council approved accounts payable in the amount of $698,542.84 by roll call vote 6-0. Later in the meeting the council voted, on a motion by Muncey and second by White, to approve the Shoreline Technology Solutions managed service provider agreement as presented. That motion carried by roll call vote 6-0.

The council also established a Water System Operations Contract Advisory Committee on a motion by Councilmember Dean, seconded by Councilmember Muncey; the motion included appointments of Mayor Pro-Tem Baldwin and Councilmember Gardner to the committee and passed 6-0. The motion language and packet did not specify meeting frequency, scope of work beyond advising on a water-systems contract, or a required reporting timeline; staff follow-up will be needed to establish committee procedures.

The approvals were procedural and passed unanimously; council did not amend the packet language or set additional funding at the meeting. Staff will implement the Shoreline agreement per the approved contract and schedule the advisory committee’s initial organizational steps.
