Sterling Board approves consent agenda, lists policies for first reading

The consent agenda included the Aug. 20, 2025 minutes, the superintendent's report, the special education director's report, the principal's report, the clinical supervisor's report, and the monthly check register. Dorothy Capobianco moved to approve the consent agenda; Jennifer Mossner seconded. The motion passed with all members present voting in favor.
Under new business the board listed Policy 5114 (Students - Suspension and Expulsion/Due Process), Policy 6159 and its Regulation 6159 (Individualized Education Program), and Policy 5118.2 (Educational Opportunities for Military Children) for first reading. No substantive debate or votes on those policies occurred at the meeting; they were recorded as first readings.
Committee updates included a Policy Committee meeting set for Monday, Oct. 6, 2025, a Budget Committee meeting planned for December to discuss the draft 2026-27 budget, and no current negotiations needed. The board recorded no resignations or retirements, and there was no public comment.
Jennifer Mossner moved to adjourn the meeting; Catherine Malo seconded. The motion passed unanimously and the meeting adjourned at 6:24 p.m.
