Board asks staff for workshop to expand career‑pathway offerings at Oxford High School

"This plan will invariably have budgetary implications," Marino said, noting some courses will require new hiring or supporting current staff to obtain certification.
Board members discussed possible partnerships (including sharing certified personnel with neighboring districts) and flagged facilities constraints—limited classroom or lab space could limit which pathways are feasible without additional capital investment. Marino said NextGen accountability also awards points for student participation in CTE pathways, so adding pathways could affect the district’s accountability score.
The board agreed the administration should return with a workshop layout and cost implications ahead of the 2026–27 budget process.
