City Manager Cummins asked the council at the Sept. 4 workshop to re‑engage consultant Andy Campbell through Bendzinski & Co. Municipal Finance Advisors to support ongoing water and sewer agreement negotiations with the Kalamazoo Lake Sewer & Water Authority.
Cummins said Campbell previously worked on the multijurisdictional negotiations while at Baker Tilly and that Baker Tilly permitted the municipalities to end their agreement without cost after Campbell’s departure. The manager characterized Campbell as bringing substantial knowledge and experience relevant to the negotiations and requested council authorization to sign an agreement with Bendzinski & Co. for his services.
No formal vote or contract award was recorded during the workshop.
