The presentation mapped English language arts, math and science proficiency for grade cohorts from 2019–2024 and noted district targets (state benchmark cited as 80% proficiency). Administrators said progress varied by cohort and content area and emphasized curriculum fidelity, professional development and MTSS (multi-tiered system of supports) interventions as levers to improve outcomes.
Administrators reported summer-school grant activity: a $13,000.79 grant funded summer staffing (secretary, principal oversight, four bus drivers and transportation director) and supported full four-week programming with 26 regularly attending students. They said ESSA-related funding of about $155,000 complemented other learning-loss funds. Results summarized for the summer program included nine students showing reading growth, four maintaining reading performance, and mixed math outcomes (five improved, two maintained, three declined) for students with IEP goals. Behavior outcomes were mixed; administrators reported three in-building suspensions (one weapon, one inappropriate behavior, one threat) and 24 detentions so far this year.
Following two closed sessions on confidential student records, the board approved online-learning arrangements for two students through the Regional Learning Center (student one: online schooling with a half-day weekly check-in at the RLC; student two: online learning with a recommended (not required) one-hour weekly touchpoint). Both votes carried unanimously. The board also approved early-graduation requests pending verification of requirements and several fundraising and CTSO-related travel requests.
Administrators emphasized that Oct. 1 is the head-count date affecting funding and that the district will continue drilling down on diagnostic screeners (FastBridge) and fidelity checks to align instruction with state assessments.
