Carrie Milton and other members discussed aligning West Bridgewater language to MASC guidance and said the town’s insurance representative recommended clarifications to protect staff and students (for example, guidance on one‑on‑one situations).
The committee also adopted several policies as written (social media, student progress reports, promotion and retention, graduation requirements, school ceremonies/observances and animals in school) and moved to resend or rescind older duplicate policies where the content had been consolidated. On service animals, the committee extracted standalone language into a new IMGA policy and agreed to keep that policy open for further review.
Committee members said the review process took time but resulted in clearer and more consistent policy language. The committee adopted the listed policies by majority voice vote where recorded.
