At the Springport Village Council workshop on Dec. 10, 2024, Manager Saylors reported a series of operational updates, including progress on the Wastewater Project and a forthcoming presentation of a rate study by MRWA.
Saylors said the Wastewater Project "is moving along" and noted a meeting was scheduled for Dec. 18 to continue coordination. The council learned that Kent Phillips of Lagoon Services will retire in January and that the village is reviewing a proposed replacement contract with David DeGrand. Manager Saylors and Clerk/Deputy Treasurer Theresa Woolworth met with a PNC representative to discuss renewing a Village certificate of deposit that is maturing. The village also received a payment from SevElectric for repairs made on Oyer Street.
In finance items, the council reviewed November 2024 disbursements, discussed delinquent utility accounts and potential shut-offs, and examined the November account balance report. Manager Saylors provided each councilmember with a copy of proposed budget amendments and the draft budget and asked council members to review the materials before the January meeting. The workshop also recorded that a Moratorium Resolution had been published in the Springport Signal on Dec. 5, 2024.
Collin Hawes submitted the Department of Public Works report for November 2024. No formal roll-call votes on the resolutions or budget amendments were recorded in the workshop minutes.
President Barnette adjourned the workshop at 8:20 p.m.
