Springport manager reports security cameras, corrective plan submission and wastewater schedule

He reported lagoon discharge is planned for Nov. 1. Saylors also noted the village opened an escrow account at Homestead Savings Bank under the Fire Insurance Withholding Program, parking lines were painted at the township and post office and signs ordered, and staff completed Michigan-based financial management training through BS&A. Community Service Day with Homestead Savings Bank is set for Oct. 14.
DPW representative Collin Hawes delivered the DPW report; council reviewed delinquent account/shut-off reports, the September account balances and vendor disbursements for September 2024. Committee reports included cemetery fundraising details: Cara Ward said the VFW Bricks Project is offering bricks for $100 through Nov. 30, 2024, and the next Cemetery Board meeting is scheduled for Jan. 20, 2025 at 6:30 p.m.
