McPherson County Planning Commission approves minutes, schedules July 30 meeting; zoning update draft distributed

Chairman Mike Krull called the McPherson County Planning Commission to order at 7:00 p.m. Thursday at the McPherson County Courthouse in Tryon. The meeting notice ran in the Stapleton Enterprise on June 18, and Krull noted the Open Meetings Law posted on the courtroom's north wall.
Arlan Paxton moved to approve the minutes of the previous meeting "as presented," and Jerry Moritz seconded. The motion passed unanimously; those voting aye were Paxton, Moritz, Kathy Hoberg, Krull, Karen Haller, Vernon Waits and Kent Fisher. No members voted nay.
Commission members each received a copy of the second draft of the Zoning Regulations Update for review. West Central Nebraska Development District (WCNDD) is acting as consultant on the project; the commission noted that Edward Dunn of WCNDD was not present to discuss the draft at Thursday's meeting.
After brief discussion, Kent Fisher moved to set the next Planning Commission meeting for July 30; Scott Hoberg seconded. The motion carried unanimously with the same seven members voting aye. With no further business, Arlan Paxton moved to adjourn, seconded by Scott Hoberg; the commission adjourned at 7:50 p.m.
The record shows Matt Burch and Chelsey McNutt were absent. Zoning Administrator Kathy Hoberg was present. The meeting minutes were signed by the McPherson County Clerk/Zoning Commissioner and Planning Commission Chairman per the meeting record.
