Springport council approves $3,000 office furniture purchase and adopts two account-authority resolutions

President Pro Tempore Jason Bartley presided as the Village of Springport council approved a set of administrative and financial items at its July 11, 2024 meeting.
The council voted to authorize up to $3,000 for new office furniture after a motion from Council member Cara Ward, seconded by Barnette. Clerk Theresa Woolworth recorded a roll call vote: Cara Ward, Barnette, Bartley and Austin Ward voted yes; Severns and Webb were absent. The motion carried.
The council also adopted two resolutions to update who may manage village bank accounts. Resolution 24-11, concerning Homestead accounts, was moved by Barnette and seconded by Austin Ward; the motion passed on a roll call vote in which Barnette, Austin Ward, Bartley and Cara Ward voted yes. Resolution 24-12, covering PNC accounts, was moved by Austin Ward and seconded by Cara Ward and passed by the same four yes votes with Severns and Webb absent.
These actions were recorded in the meeting minutes prepared by Village Clerk Theresa Woolworth. The council did not record any no votes or abstentions on these items. The meeting was called to order at 7:00 p.m. and adjourned at 8:32 p.m.
