The Village of South Range Council approved several personnel and operational measures at its May 7 meeting, including wage increases, retention of a contractor, changes to community-hall rental policies and a summertime flower budget.
Trustee Korby moved and Trustee Balma seconded a motion to change community-hall rental rates and policies effective Jan. 1, 2026; roll call recorded Ayes: President Eakin, Trustee Hill, Trustee Marier and Trustee Parolini and the motion carried.
Trustee Marier moved (second Trustee Balma) to keep K. Archaumbau hired as a contractor to assist as needed through 2026; roll-call recorded Ayes: President Eakin, Trustee Hill, Trustee Korby and Trustee Parolini and the motion carried.
The council approved wage increases for two employees. Trustee Korby moved (second Trustee Balma) to increase S. Schwandt’s rate to $25 per hour; roll call recorded Ayes: President Eakin, Trustee Hill, Trustee Marier and Trustee Parolini and the motion carried. Trustee Parolini moved (second Trustee Hill) to raise S. Dorsey’s rate to $22 per hour; roll call recorded Ayes: President Eakin, Trustee Korby, Trustee Marier and Trustee Balma and the motion carried.
The council also approved a $2,000 summertime flowers budget. The transcript records the roll call with Trustee Hill listed twice among the ayes and Trustee Parolini abstaining; that duplicated entry appears to be a transcript error and the motion was recorded as carried. The council authorized payment of April bills totaling $46,023.83 earlier in the meeting.
The motions carried by roll call as recorded in the meeting transcript; specific implementation details (such as start dates for wage increases or budget line items) were not noted and are expected to be handled administratively by the clerk and treasurer.
