Bolton elementary team 1227D invited to the 2026 VEX IQ World Championships

Board members recognized Bolton’s elementary robotics team 1227D for season awards and invited them to compete in the 2026 VEX IQ World Championships in St. Louis April 28–30.
At the start of the Bolton Board of Education meeting, administrators and staff celebrated student achievements in robotics and announced that elementary team 1227D earned an invitation to the 2026 VEX IQ World Championships in St. Louis.
A presenter praised the district’s VEX IQ season and detailed team 1227D’s accomplishments: a design award at an earlier tournament, taking the extra challenge of handling the beam at the state championship, tying for second place in teamwork champions in alliance with team 1227A, and a third-place finish in the skills competition. "Tremendous accomplishments," the presenter said during the recognition.
Students briefly demonstrated their robot for the audience and described the season’s work, explaining that teams begin organizing in May, start building in September and devote hours to coding autonomous routines and practicing driving skills.
The board congratulated the team and shared streaming information for their matches; staff and parents were invited to watch the World Championships April 28–30 in St. Louis, Missouri.
No formal board action was required for the recognition.
