At the Mansfield Economic Development Commission meeting, staff member Steve Ferrigno reported that Taste 2 Towns Mansfield and Windham restaurant week will launch with 27 restaurants registered to participate. Ferrigno described promotional plans tied to the event and said staff are preparing signage and outreach materials.
Ferrigno also said the town is advancing a downtown parking survey and plans to meet with LAZ to review potential parking improvements for Downtown Storrs. He described planned activations for Betsy Paterson Square and reported growth in the Gameday Shuttle program as part of efforts to increase downtown visitation.
On business activity, Ferrigno updated the Commission that Campus Mart recently held a grand opening and that Action Packed plans to expand. In housing news he said The Mark at Mansfield has broken ground on a new housing complex.
Action items related to these updates include staff provision of Taste 2 Towns promotional signage and follow-up to set dates for a business networking event (see action list). The Commission did not take votes on the items reported; these were provided as staff updates.
