Registrars correct budget total; officials report steady turnout and flagged voting-machine issues

The chair offered a friendly amendment to update the departmental request and the board approved the corrected total by voice vote.
Registrars reported roughly 15,000 registered voters in town and said registration rose slightly after DMV-based registration changes. Officials praised facilities and interdepartmental support during a recent high-turnout election and thanked public-safety staff for assistance during early voting.
Registrars also discussed equipment: they noted intermittent check-in connectivity in parts of the auditorium and a small number of feeding issues with the newer voting machines; they said they were working with staff to resolve those technical problems before the next election.
The board voted to approve the registrars' corrected FY27 total by voice vote.
