Students report new 'Tide Turner Award' and successful fundraisers at board meeting

High School Student Council members Molly Rule and Lily Wing said the council revamped its monthly staff recognition program to create "The Tide Turner Award," with October's theme "Creative Spark" awarded to Mrs. Godwin. They reported concession fundraising that supports council programming and said plans include a Holiday Assembly and a November "Heart of Gold" recognition.
TSN Student Council representatives Alexis Rule and Abbie Wrisley described successful Boo Gram sales and ongoing after‑school concessions; they said TSNSC will participate in the Small‑Town Christmas event on Dec. 4 by passing out decorated sugar cookies and will run a festive Spirit Week and candy cane and Santa‑gram sales in December.
Nikkari Elementary Student Council president Reagan Bebow told the board the school sold 206 Boo Grams in October, raising over $500, and has launched a "Sunshine Cart" to distribute snacks to teachers on Mondays as a regular appreciation effort. The elementary council also plans Valentine Gram sales in February.
Board members received the updates during the student reports portion of the agenda; no formal action was taken on these items.
