Standish‑Sterling board approves $756,577.29 in payments; accepts three resignations and hires two staff

The Standish‑Sterling Community Schools board on Dec. 8, 2025 approved payment of invoices numbered 55921–56369 and payroll wire transfers from the General Fund totaling $756,577.29. The motion to pay these bills was made by Annette Ratajczak, seconded by Board Secretary Angie Baker, and passed 6‑0 with one member absent (Kimberly Belchak).
Board Secretary Angie Baker moved to approve the minutes from the Nov. 10, 2025 regular meeting; that motion passed. After approving the minutes the board noted errors in the November minutes and agreed revised minutes will be presented for approval at the January 2026 board meeting.
The board accepted the resignations of Elizabeth Mier, Carrie Mielke and Michelle Sullivan and thanked them for their service. The resignation motion was made by Annette Ratajczak and seconded by Kevin Noffsinger and passed by the members present.
On hiring recommendations, the board approved hiring Michael Deluca as a bus driver and Brandi Adamiak as a paraprofessional as recommended. The hiring motion was made by Angie Baker and seconded by Curt Ratajczak and passed unanimously of members present.
The meeting included administrative updates from Superintendent Kroczaleski about recent weather‑related cancellations and a scheduled test of the district's new callout system. Board member Curt Ratajczak noted that lights are planned for the four‑way stop by the schools. The meeting adjourned at 5:23 p.m.
