The Stanton City Commission approved a series of routine motions at its Jan. 27, 2026 regular meeting. Commissioner Tamara Kuhn moved to approve the commission minutes from Jan. 13, 2025; Commissioner Lewis Corwin seconded and the motion carried on a voice vote. Commissioner Kuhn also moved to approve the accounts payable report through Jan. 23, 2026; Commissioner Ray Holloway seconded and the motion carried.
Commissioner Ray Holloway moved to approve USDA Draw Request No. 15 for $1,727.50 for sewer work; Commissioner Tamara Kuhn seconded and the motion carried on voice vote. The Commission then handled several administrative banking items: Mayor Pro Tem Jane Basom moved to remove Stacy Cavendish from all city bank accounts; Commissioner Tamara Kuhn seconded and the motion carried. Commissioner Kuhn moved to add Rachael Coffey to the Consumers Credit Union account; Commissioner Basom seconded and that motion also carried on voice vote.
Commissioner Ray Holloway moved to excuse the absences of Commissioners Jacky McGill and Chuck Miel from the Jan. 27 meeting; Commissioner Lewis Corwin seconded and the motion carried on voice vote. The Commission adjourned at 7:10 p.m. on a motion by Commissioner Kuhn, seconded by Commissioner Basom.
