The Stanton Planning Commission on Jan. 6 approved its meeting agenda and carried several motions to reshuffle its leadership. Vice Chair Tammy Ferguson called the meeting to order at 5:30 p.m.
In new business the commission recorded three appointment motions. A motion by Lori Hufford, seconded by Scott Giddings, to appoint Tammy Ferguson as chairperson carried. Bill Ferguson moved, with Chuck Miel seconding, to appoint Scott Giddings as vice chairperson; that motion carried. Bill Ferguson then moved, seconded by Scott Giddings, to appoint Lori Hufford to the position of secretary; that motion also carried. The minutes record each motion as “carried” but do not provide individual vote tallies.
The meeting also included routine approvals. Bill Ferguson moved, seconded by Scott Giddings, to approve the meeting agenda; the motion carried. The commission subsequently approved the minutes from Nov. 4, 2025, on a motion by Bill Ferguson seconded by Scott Giddings. The minutes note no public comments during the public-comment period.
The meeting adjourned at 6:29 p.m. on a motion by Bill Ferguson, seconded by Eric Rich. The minutes do not list vote counts for any motions and do not describe any objections or abstentions.
