The Des Moines County Board of Supervisors voted to approve a payroll reimbursement claim and several routine land-use and personnel items during their meeting.
Among the motions the board approved was a payroll reimbursement claim for $7,958. The board then approved Resolution 2025-057, the final plat for Alexander Acres, described by staff as a one-lot minor subdivision that attaches an undeveloped parcel to an adjoining parcel and provides access on Lakewood Drive; staff said the parcel was expanded from about 30 to 40 acres and that NRCS has identified Conservation Reserve Program (CRP) ground on the property. The board also approved Resolution 2025-058, a final plat for a one-lot addition to the T subdivision north of Burlington on 155th Street that uses an existing shared driveway and includes a widened 66-foot easement to allow potential future lot splits.
A slate of personnel items passed as well. The board approved anniversary/step increases and salary adjustments listed for conservation staff (named in the personnel packet), granted unpaid leave requests (including a 15-hour unpaid leave for Mandy Spencer and a 15-hour unpaid leave noted for an office employee in the county attorney office), and approved new hires and salary steps in local health (Priscilla Trigger, Maline Clark, Groot Tucker) and a part-time kitchen hire at the Craig Shial Center (Catherine Manley, $16.80/hour). The board also recognized Patty Brook for 19½ years of service in mental-health work and accepted remarks she offered on her retirement.
Votes on routine items were recorded in roll-call form and, where indicated, passed by the attending supervisors. Staff recommended approval of the subdivision final plats in the meeting packet and the supervisors moved and seconded the motions as standard procedure.
What happens next: approved final plats will be filed per county procedures and personnel actions will be implemented by county administration.
