Commission continues WPCA sanitary sewer easement referral, requests clearer maps

The Brookfield Planning and Zoning Commission voted unanimously to continue consideration of a sanitary sewer easement referral submitted by the Brookfield Water Pollution Control Authority for lands identified as MBLU D07-038.
Staff and commissioners discussed confusion over parcel boundaries and the precise location of the proposed sewer line. Commissioners repeatedly requested clearer mapping and GIS layers showing existing sewer lines and the proposed alignment so the commission can assess ownership and routing. A staff member said the application materials were received that day but not in an electronic format; commissioners asked WPCA to provide a map showing where the pipe would run and whether state easements or town-owned road segments would be affected.
"We'd like clarification of exactly where the sewer line's going to be so we can make an informed decision," a commissioner said. With that request, a motion to continue the referral to the July 23 meeting passed unanimously. The commission specifically asked WPCA to supply clearer maps and any information on easements or right-of-way ownership prior to the resumed hearing.
