The New Milford Board of Education on July 16 approved its budget position dated June 30, 2024, Purchase Resolution D‑784 and requests for budget transfers, motions the board said do not change projected year‑end balances.
Anthony Giovannone, director of fiscal services and operations, told the board the balances are as of June 30 and that there is a routine roll‑out of bills received after that date; he said official closing is slated for July 22. “Nothing in the report changes anything that was projected for the year‑end balance,” Giovannone said.
Mrs. Tammy McInerney moved to approve the budget position, resolution and transfers; Mr. Brian McCauley seconded and the motion passed unanimously. Earlier on the agenda, Mrs. Leslie Sarich moved and Mr. Eric Hansell seconded approval of the regular meeting minutes from June 18, 2024; that motion also passed unanimously.
Why it matters: approving the budget position and transfers clears routine year‑end housekeeping and allows staff to continue planning for the coming school year. The board signaled no substantive changes to projected operating results for 2023‑24.
The board took these votes during its regular July meeting and adjourned at 7:26 p.m.
