New Milford board approves June budget position, purchase resolution and transfers

The New Milford Board of Education voted unanimously July 16 to approve the Budget Position dated June 30, 2024, Purchase Resolution D-784 and a set of budget transfers.
Anthony Giovannone, the district's Director of Fiscal Services and Operations, told the board that reported balances reflect activity through June 30 and that a roll‑out of bills received after that date occurs in July. "There is still roll-out that happens in July for bills received after 6/30/24. Closing is slated to take place July 22nd," Giovannone said, adding that nothing in the report changes projected year‑end balances.
Mrs. Tammy McInerney moved to approve the budget position, Purchase Resolution D-784, and the requested transfers; Mr. Brian McCauley seconded. The motion passed unanimously. The board did not record individual vote tallies in the minutes.
Board Chair Wendy Faulenbach thanked the community for supporting the budget, saying an approved budget "helps to get the district up and running" and noting the board held a goals meeting the same evening.
The approval preserves the district's current financial plan while staff complete July closing procedures; the board will receive further routine financial updates as the fiscal year closes.
