Board highlights end of construction, schedules South Campus ribbon cutting Oct. 23

School Facilities & Program Design Committee chair Susan Hambey told the Board that the committee met earlier and reported several facilities items: North Campus water fountains will be replaced; Nathan Hale’s ADA playground received a stop‑work request from Planning & Zoning but the work will continue; and a Ribbon Cutting ceremony for South Campus is scheduled for Wednesday, Oct. 23 at 3:00 p.m.
President Elaine Maynard‑Adams framed the milestone: “The Ribbon Cutting ends approximately 18 years of school construction and the District now has all updated schools which is quite impressive,” she said.
Committee members and board trustees thanked past board members and staff who worked on building projects. The committee’s update will be followed by the ribbon‑cutting event next week, at which board officials plan to celebrate completion of the district’s long‑running capital program.
