The board received an update from the presidential search committee and elected officers to begin service July 1.
On the search, a governor told members the committee had reviewed internal and external applicants, discussed candidate‑contact rules and plans to do initial Zoom interviews. The committee expects to invite finalists to campus for in‑person interviews and to meet campus stakeholders, likely in August.
Later in the meeting the nominating committee (Scott Albers and Bill Severn) presented an officers’ slate: Bill Grimwood as chair, Todd Machalski as vice chair, Daniel Holt as treasurer and Betsy Wright as secretary. A board member moved to accept the slate; the motion was seconded and the board approved the officers. The newly elected officers’ duties begin July 1.
The board also noted a recent faculty and staff listening session to gather priorities for the next president and encouraged use of the chain of command for routine concerns, while remaining approachable for unresolved matters.
What’s next: the search committee will schedule Zoom interviews, set campus interview dates and return to the board with finalist timing; officers will assume duties on July 1.
