Missouri Western enrollment holds steady; conversion and ECA gains noted

Auto said gross first‑year commits stood at 833 as of the morning of the meeting, compared with a final 2025 figure near 770. He reported net commits around 720 and highlighted growth in the Kansas City market, with particular strength in Buchanan County and St. Joseph. “Gross commits, we're at 833 actually as of this morning,” he said.
Key metrics Auto cited: a first‑time full‑time (freshman) conversion rate of 36.4% (up about five percentage points year‑over‑year), a historical final yield rate near 23.4%, and a current melt rate of roughly 12% compared with about 9% last year. He said summer graduate sessions are up (net grad commits up 21 for the new summer session) and fall graduate enrollments are also trending higher.
Auto noted total degree‑seeking enrollment was roughly flat year‑over‑year when combining undergrad and grad, and that including ECA/high‑school students the university is up about 183 students compared with the prior year. He credited earlier registration, improved processes (including placing admitted students into classes promptly) and a more active recruiting presence in targeted markets.
On accreditation, Dr. Page reported the HLC report is progressing: standards 1–3 are nearly complete, standard 4 is in edits, a draft will go to cabinet by July 7 and to the board mid‑July. The administration filed a complaint about the original review‑team composition and HLC adjusted the team.
What’s next: administration will continue to track yield and melt through the summer and return updated enrollment figures to the board; the HLC draft will be circulated to the cabinet in early July and to the board in mid‑July.
