During the Nov. 12 Beaman City Council meeting, members reviewed monthly financials and notated a property deed transfer intended to support housing placement.
City staff presented expense and revenue detail for the period 10/09/2025–11/12/2025. The tally listed total expenses of $24,711.47 and total revenues for October 2025 of $75,603.86. The council reviewed and acknowledged the Fiscal Year 2025 Annual Financial Report; the transcript records the council’s acknowledgment but does not record a formal motion with roll-call for that item.
City Clerk Denise Hoy reported that the warranty deed for 205 Wadeloup has been signed and recorded, transferring ownership to the Butler/Grundy County Development Alliance; the alliance will proceed to work with Homes for Iowa on placement of a home at that location. Council then briefly discussed 104 Center Street, a property the city acquired under Iowa Code section 657A; options mentioned included partnering with a private developer or working with Homes for Iowa. No decision was made on 104 Center Street during the meeting.
Council also accepted a letter from city attorney Heather Prendergast regarding new hourly rates; the transcript records acceptance but does not include mover/second details. Clerk Denise Hoy was instructed to check costs for a rules sign for the new pickleball court.
The council adjourned with these items pending further staff follow-up and without additional votes on the property disposition.
