Beaman council adopts FY2026 wages, approves animal ordinance second reading and authorizes payment processing service

At its July 9 meeting the Beaman City Council approved several routine and regulatory items.
On a motion by Council member Jason Scafferi and second by Council member Barry Brockman, the council adopted Resolution RES 2025-05, which sets wages for fiscal year 2026. The minutes record Ayes for Scafferi, Brockman, Ashton, Rego and Schleisman.
Council member Brandon Schleisman moved and Council member Jason Scafferi seconded approval of the second reading of Ordinance 176, which amends Chapter 55 (Animal Protection and Control); the motion passed with Ayes recorded for Schleisman, Scafferi, Ashton, Brockman and Rego.
Council member Barry Brockman, seconded by Deb Ashton, moved to enter an agreement with Government Window for a software-as-a-service payment system to allow the city to accept credit and debit card payments; the motion passed unanimously (Ayes: 5).
The council received an informational update that Boulder has removed a building adjacent to the tennis court and begun concrete work for new pickleball courts. On nuisance properties, the council assigned follow-up tasks: Council member Jason Scafferi will check with KWD, LLC about the start date to clean up 104 Center Street; Mayor Ann Smith will call for mosquito spraying services; and the city clerk was asked to follow up on junk vehicles at 207 Beckman.
The meeting adjourned with no further action recorded.
