The board revised and approved substitute‑pay policy language creating eligibility for additional daily pay (presented in the packet as $5 per day increments reaching up to a total of $20 across multiple years as written); members removed ambiguous phrasing such as 'up to' in places to clarify that the intended amounts would be granted as specified. The motion as amended was approved during the meeting.
The committee also voted to reopen school choice for one ninth‑grade seat, to be posted on the district website for a two‑week application window closing Jan. 1; if multiple applicants meet preference criteria a lottery will be held per normal procedure. Members discussed giving preference to students already in the district with siblings enrolled.
