City maintenance staff told the Beaman City Council on Sept. 10 that Advanced Environmental has finished asbestos removal at 209 Main Street and that Boulder Contracting will begin demolition as soon as possible.
The council minutes and expense register show a payment to Advanced Environmental for asbestos removal of $16,446.00 and a separate payment to Boulder Contracting for "Demo building / Pickleball court" of $13,499.40. Maintenance lead Dave Moorman reported the status update to council members.
Council members agreed that demolition work will proceed once contractor scheduling allows; the minutes do not specify a demolition start date. The record also notes there is currently no update on the planned pickleball courts and that the item remains pending.
No public comment or objections were recorded in the meeting minutes regarding the demolition or asbestos removal. The council did not attach conditions or additional funding authorizations to the update recorded in the minutes.
