Saline County commissioners approve budget transfers, authorize tax transfer to Road Fund

Commissioner Brian Pribyl moved to approve Resolution #2025-081, transferring $1,000 from the General Fund to the Adult Drug Court Fund under the proposed 2025–2026 budget; the motion passed. Pribyl then moved and the board approved three additional transfers: Resolution #2025-082 ($5,503 to the Aging Services Fund), Resolution #2025-083 ($42,832 to the Bailiff Fund) and Resolution #2025-084 ($2,428 to the Employee Wellness Fund). Each motion carried on voice votes of the five commissioners.
The board also approved Resolution #2025-085, moved by Commissioner Russ Karpisek, authorizing the county treasurer to transfer 51.07% of the 2025 tax collection for the General Fund to the Road Fund. Later in the meeting, the board approved Resolution #2025-086, moved by Pribyl, transferring $194,000 from General Fund #0100 to Road & Bridge Fund #0300. The five commissioners voted in favor of the actions as recorded in the minutes.
These actions reallocate approximately $245,763 among county funds and set a percentage-based tax transfer to support road operations and capital needs. The motions were routine budget adjustments tied to the board’s adopted 2025–2026 budget framework; the meeting record does not indicate dissenting debate on the transfers.
County Clerk Diann Nettifee recorded the votes and certified the minutes. The board approved the claims as presented later in the meeting and adjourned at 9:57 a.m. The next regular meeting is scheduled for Oct. 14, 2025, at 9:30 a.m.
