HPC board approves $12 million FY2025 operating budget and moves to executive session

Staff presented the budget as an annualized maintenance-level request that reflects a roughly 2% increase over the prior year and primarily covers staff payroll and consultant contracts. The executive director noted the appropriation does not include additional resources that would be required if pending legislation expands the commission’s statutory duties; staff said they would return to the board with a supplemental request if needed.
A motion to accept the FY2025 budget was moved and seconded; commissioners approved it by voice vote. After the vote the commission took a roll-call process to enter a confidential executive session and did not return to public session.
The commission asked staff to monitor capacity needs as active market transactions and potential legislative changes unfold and to present any supplemental funding requests for board approval.
