The Zeeland Elections Commission met Sept. 4, 2025, and approved three election-related resolutions, set its next meeting for Oct. 3, 2025 at 12:45 p.m., and adjourned at 3:09 p.m.
Chief Interim Deputy Clerk Kristi DeVerney called the meeting to order at 3:00 p.m. and recorded a roll call showing Mayor Klynstra and Attorney Donkersloot present and Clerk Holmes absent. Mayor Klynstra moved to approve the July 9, 2025 meeting minutes; Attorney Donkersloot seconded and the motion carried.
The commission considered Resolution 2025-10 to combine precincts 1, 2, 3 and 4 for the Nov. 4, 2025 special election. Mayor Klynstra moved adoption; Attorney Donkersloot seconded. The motion carried with both members recorded as aye and Clerk Holmes absent.
The commission then approved Resolution 2025-11, concerning the AVCB for the 2025 elections, and Resolution 2025-12, establishing the receiving board for 2025 elections. Both measures were moved by Mayor Klynstra and seconded by Attorney Donkersloot; each motion was recorded as carried with the two members voting aye and Clerk Holmes absent.
The body set its next meeting for Oct. 3, 2025 at 12:45 p.m. by unanimous recorded motion of the two present members. Attorney Donkersloot moved to adjourn at 3:09 p.m.; Mayor Klynstra seconded and the commission adjourned. The minutes were filed by Kristi DeVerney, Chief Interim Deputy Clerk, City of Zeeland.
