Parks & Recreation Director Alina Hibbs described two Parks fee items: creation of a lower-cost two-day-a-week swim-team option designed to provide a more affordable choice for participants (staff explained the 2-day price is not exactly one-third less than the 3-day program because registrants will still participate in the same number of swim meets), and a set of cemetery fee adjustments. Hibbs said many lot types are sold out; adjustments focus on alcove niches remaining in the mausoleum and increases in infant, cremation garden and upright lot pricing tied to rising operations and maintenance costs.
Chris (speaker 14) summarized the fee-resolution's automatic inflationary adjustment for school impact fees: a 3.1% increase based on the Consumer Price Index for urban consumers in the Seattle-Tacoma-Bellevue area. Chris said the change was implemented on April 1 under the existing formula and the paperwork is being updated to match permits.
Council moved to approve Resolution 1879. The motion passed.
