Council approves $15,000 amendment to Chamber of Commerce agreement for July 4 parade security

The Enumclaw City Council on June 22 approved Resolution No. 1881 to amend the provision-of-service agreement with the Chamber of Commerce to provide additional funding for July 4 parade security.
Parks Director Lina Hicks told council the amendment would authorize use of $15,000 previously approved by council and break the spending down as follows: $8,500 for parade barriers lining the route, $2,500 to cover overtime for six additional city staff and $4,000 to the Chamber for paid security and event staffing. “The funds have already been authorized by council. This would just kind of break up how we're going to spend it,” Hicks said.
Councilmember Kuman Frazier moved to approve Resolution No. 1881; the motion was seconded by Councilmember Mollaffler and passed by voice vote.
The approval formalizes the allocation of previously authorized funds to barrier rental, city overtime and Chamber staffing for parade security; no additional city budget authorization beyond the previously approved $15,000 was recorded in the meeting.
