The Zeeland Brownfield Redevelopment Authority handled routine administrative business at its Oct. 13 meeting, approving minutes, reviewing policy updates and appointing officers for the Nov. 1, 2025–Oct. 31, 2026 term.
The board approved the Jan. 21, 2025 minutes (motion by Tim Maday, second by Andy Boatright). The authority then appointed officers: Chair Rick VanDorp (term ending 11/1/2026), Vice-Chair Beth Blanton (term ending 11/1/2028, subject to City Council reappointment on Oct. 20, 2025), Treasurer Andy Boatright (term ending 11/1/2026) and Secretary Tim Klunder (term ending 11/1/2027). The motion to appoint the slate was made by Andy Boatright and seconded by Tim Maday and carried unanimously.
The board reviewed an amended Brownfield Tax Increment Financing Policy and the Community & Economic Development Financial Incentive Policy; staff answered questions but no policy changes were recorded. Community Development Director Tim Maday gave an update on the Land Bank transfer and the status of the JR Automation site at 800 E. Riley. No visitors or public comments were recorded. The meeting adjourned at 4:49 p.m.
