Pittsgrove Committee adopts consent agenda, asks Salem County for Fork Bridge Road traffic study

Pittsgrove Township Committee members voted unanimously Aug. 27 to adopt a consent agenda that bundled Resolutions 119–133, including a request that Salem County perform a traffic study on Fork Bridge Road (County Route 671).

The motion to vote by consent was moved by Committeeman Schmidt and seconded by Committeeman Harz; the subsequent adoption carried on a roll call vote with Harz, Schmidt, Spinelli and Mayor Fiore J. Copare voting aye. The list of items adopted ranged from payment of bills and a cooperative rock‑salt procurement contract to authorizations for raffle licenses and a community document‑shredding event.

Among the items on the consent agenda, Resolution No. 133 formally "Request[ed] and Support[ed] a Traffic Study by Salem County on Fork Bridge Road (County Route 671) to Evaluate Reduction of Speed Limit and Implementation of Truck Weight Restrictions." Committee members and members of the public had earlier discussed truck traffic and speed concerns on local roads; the resolution places a traffic study request in the hands of Salem County for technical review and any subsequent action.

The consent agenda also included Resolution No. 124‑2025, which appointed Derik Martin posthumously to the Pittsgrove Township Environmental Commission. Mayor Copare presented the resolution to family members in attendance and read the resolution in full.

Other adopted items included authorization to enter cooperative purchasing agreements, a contract award for rock salt through the Salem County Cooperative Pricing System, authorizations related to the Municipal Alliance for substance use disorder services, tax refunds and a change order for the Laura Lane resurfacing project. The committee recorded no nays on the consent package.

The committee announced the next regular meeting for Sept. 24, 2025, and adjourned.
