Jennifer Spadafora elected vice chair of Malden School Committee

Jennifer Spadafora was elected vice chair of the Malden School Committee during the committee’s Jan. 5 inaugural meeting at Malden High School. The nomination, moved by Ms. Macklin and seconded by Ms. Hortie, passed in a unanimous roll call vote.
The vote was taken after Mayor Christenson brought the matter to the floor; the roll call recorded Mr. Drummey, Mr. McCarthy, Ms. Spadafora, Ms. Macklin, Ms. Hortie, Mr. Piazza, Mr. Bernard, Ms. Rose-Zeiberg and Mayor Christenson as voting "Yes." After the vote, Mayor Christenson expressed appreciation for Ms. Spadafora’s work on the committee.
Ms. Spadafora thanked the full committee for entrusting her as vice chair and "committed to always doing what is in the best interest of the Committee and Malden Public Schools." Shortly afterward, Mr. Bernard moved to adjourn at 6:46 p.m.; Mr. Drummey seconded and the motion passed unanimously.
The minutes note that notice of the meeting was filed with the Clerk of the City of Malden in the manner provided under Chapter 39, Section 23A of the General Laws.
