Committee passes routine measures including graduation date, handbooks and appointments

The Berlin‑Boylston Regional School Committee cleared a slate of routine but consequential items at its Aug. 27 meeting.
The committee approved the consent agenda, covering several prior meeting minutes. It voted unanimously to move Tahanto Regional Middle/High School's graduation from June 8 to Sunday, June 1, 2024 (motion by Mrs. Julie Lee; seconded by Mr. Michael Totman).
Fundraising for Nature's Classroom for the Boylston and Berlin elementary schools was approved (motion by Mrs. Julie Lee; seconded by Mrs. Jessica Deglialberti). The committee also approved the Tahanto Regional Middle/High School handbook; Mr. Michael Totman moved an amendment to update staff names and limit the motion to the fall semester, seconded by Mrs. Julie Lee; the amendment and the amended handbook passed unanimously.
On personnel and finance items, the committee voted to appoint Cynthia Henderson as District Treasurer for Aug. 28, 2024–Aug. 27, 2025 with a proposed annual salary of $14,500 (motion by Mrs. Jessica Deglialberti; seconded by Mrs. Julie Lee). The board discussed appointing Daniel Deedy as interim Director of Finance in a consultant capacity while the district searches for a full‑time Finance Director.
The meeting adjourned at 7:13 p.m.; the committee set its next regular meeting for Sept. 10, 2024.
