Berlin-Boylston hires Aaron Osborn as director of finance and operations

The School Committee unanimously approved Aaron Osborn as Director of Finance and Operations on Sept. 10, 2024. Osborn said he will review the district's assessment formula, meet committee members and town finance committees and address payroll and payables issues.
The Berlin-Boylston Regional School Committee voted unanimously, 6–0, on Sept. 10 to hire Aaron Osborn as Director of Finance and Operations.
The motion to approve Osborn was made by Michael Totman and seconded by Julie Lee. In introductions, committee members said Osborn has experience in corporate and public finance and in teaching; Interim Superintendent Albert Ganem noted he previously worked with Osborn in Hampden-Wilbraham.
Osborn told the committee he plans to review the district's assessment formula, examine staffing turnover and tackle payroll and payables challenges with Interim Director of Finance & Operations Daniel Deedy and Superintendent Ganem. He said he intends to meet individually with each committee member and with the finance committees from both towns and that he has a copy of the Regional Agreement.
Committee members approved the hire and the item will return to open session later for contract approval subject to final edits by district counsel and signature authority by the chair.
