Lyon County amends urban‑renewal plan and approves development agreement for Vos BioTech

Why it matters: The amendment and agreement allow the county to use tax increment financing to reimburse or support specific economic development activities at the Vos BioTech site. The board also authorized an internal advance from the Secondary Road Fund to the Casino TIF fund to enable near‑term construction work on county roads and culverts tied to broader economic development and infrastructure needs.
Financial and procedural safeguards: County staff certified the legal notices and held public hearings and consultations with affected jurisdictions before action. The board recorded that payments to Vos BioTech would be payable only from incremental property tax revenues attributable to the specified property and not from the county’s general obligation revenue.
