The Stamford Board of Education approved its 2025 meeting calendar and amended committee scheduling during its regular meeting.
The board considered Resolution 12‑03‑24:93, "Be it resolved that the Board of Education approve all Board of Education meeting dates for January through December 2025." During discussion, a board member moved to amend the main motion to change policy committee meetings from the 2nd Tuesday of the month to the 3rd Tuesday so they would follow fiscal and operations committee meetings.
The amendment was seconded and discussed briefly; a board member explained the change was intended to allow policy meetings to follow fiscal and operations so timing would be more efficient. The board voted to approve the amendment and then voted to adopt the resolution as amended. The chair announced the votes as 9–0–0.
The meeting also included routine business: the consent agenda (minutes from the prior meeting) was approved unanimously, and the chair announced committee leadership for the coming term: Gabrielle Koch will continue as policy chair for teaching and learning; Julie Foye will serve as policy committee chair; Michael Larabino will chair the labor committee; Andy George will chair the fiscal committee; and Miss Betterwertz will chair operations. The chair also reminded members of a retreat scheduled for Saturday at 9 a.m. on the 5th floor.
What happens next: The clerk will reissue the calendar with updated committee dates and the board will publish the schedule with the town clerk as a public record, per the chair's remarks.
