Sandwich School Committee elects Danielle Binda as chair, assigns subcommittees and liaisons

The Sandwich School Committee voted unanimously to elect Danielle Binda as chair and named vice chair Kaylee Adams and recording secretary Dr. Sue Miller; the committee approved rosters for four subcommittees and a slate of liaisons covering finance, negotiations, policy and more.
The Sandwich School Committee elected Danielle Binda as chair for the 2026–27 cycle and reorganized its committees and liaisons at its May meeting. The vote to make Binda chair was moved and seconded and carried unanimously, 6–0.
The committee also confirmed Kaylee Adams as vice chair and Dr. Sue Miller as recording secretary, each by unanimous voice vote. Committee members approved the minutes from the April 29 meeting and subsequently adopted subcommittee rosters for negotiations, finance, superintendent evaluation and policy.
Under the approved slate, the negotiations subcommittee will be chaired by Dr. Sue Miller with Alexis Higgins as secretary and Bill Flynn as a member; the finance subcommittee will be chaired by Committee member Kevin with Bill Flynn serving as secretary; the superintendent-evaluation subcommittee will be chaired by Danielle Binda with Chris Pino as secretary and Kaylee Adams as a member; and policy will be chaired by Kaylee Adams with Chris Pino as secretary and Alexis Higgins as a member. The committee approved the subcommittee motion by voice vote (6–0).
The body also approved a set of liaison assignments covering recurring external partnerships and district advisory groups, including the Cape Cod Collaborative, DEIB, facilities and pool oversight, PTA/PTSA contact points, safety and security, Sandwich Community TV, CPAC, the sick bank liaison and the student advisory committee. The motion to approve the liaison slate passed by unanimous voice vote.
"I really am humbled by this," Binda said after her election, thanking committee members for their trust. The committee adjourned and set its next regular business meeting for May 27, 2026.
