Mission Clean Energy staff gave an informational overview of solar and battery energy programs to the Blandford Select Board on Aug. 11, 2025, and said the company will sponsor an open house in September 2025. The board did not take any policy action; the presentation was listed on the agenda as New Business 4(c).
Chair Cara Letendre and Member Jackie Coury opened the meeting and reminded residents that the Select Board remains neutral on solar and battery programs and that any board discussions must follow open-meeting notice requirements. Member Jackie Coury urged residents not to rely on social media for facts, saying there is a “vast amount of misinformation that is circulating on Facebook” and encouraging people to bring questions to department heads or the Select Board.
Mission Clean Energy presented “an overview of what the future of clean energy looks like,” and said the company will sponsor an open house in September 2025 to share more details and answer questions. Representatives from the planning board, zoning board of appeals, board of health, fire department and conservation commission were asked to attend and were present for the session.
The presentation was informational only; no motions to adopt programs, ordinances, or agreements were made during the session. After the presentation the board heard public comments and questions from residents. The meeting record shows the board moved the Mission Clean Energy item into the New Business section earlier in the agenda to accommodate the presentation.
The Select Board scheduled no follow-up votes at the meeting; the company’s planned open house in September is the next public event noted in the record. The meeting adjourned at 8:35 p.m.
