The Sharon Board of Education on Dec. 8 voted unanimously to proceed with integrating the district's email and domain services into Region 1 and accepted the consent agenda.
The motion to move forward with the Region 1 migration was made by Board member Peter Birnbaum and seconded by Cathy Winburn; the motion carried unanimously. Earlier in the meeting, Cathy Winburn moved, seconded by Nancy Hegy Martin, to approve the consent agenda as presented. Chair Philip O’Reilly asked for clarification about the cash report entries for the Emergency line and the Unemployment line before the consent motion was approved.
Superintendent Melony Brady-Shanley also noted a written insurance request and said no Board action was required. The meeting was called to order at 6:01 PM and adjourned at 7:23 PM after a motion by Birnbaum, seconded by Winburn, which carried unanimously.
Next steps noted by administrators include scheduling a Google training date for board members and circulating implementation details for the Region 1 migration.
