The Wymore City Council on July 3 voted unanimously to vacate F Street from 17th to 19th and 18th Street from E to F to provide access to a new house at 1228 E 'E' St. Residents and property owners, including Jon Schell and members of the Baker family, attended the meeting to discuss alternatives; council considered opening or building up nearby streets before choosing vacation with utility easements to preserve service access.
Motion to vacate carried 4-0; City Attorney Andy Carothers will prepare ordinance language for formal passage at a future meeting. Resident Jacqueline Baker thanked the mayor and council following the vote.
