Wymore council adopts utility-vehicle ordinance, approves contracts and insurance commitment

The Wymore City Council on July 3 adopted Ordinance 678, voted to join the Nebraska Municipal Power Pool mutual-aid agreement, approved a professional services contract for a CDBG street project and adopted Resolution 2024-01 committing to a three-year participation plan with the League Association of Risk Management.
The meeting opened at 7 p.m. with Mayor Collin Meints and council members Max Allen, Sue Sapp, Curt Oblinger and Neil Van Boening present. City Attorney Andy Carothers summarized the ordinance and read it aloud after the council voted to suspend the three readings; the ordinance was then approved on a 4-0 vote.
Council approved joining the Nebraska Municipal Power Pool Mutual Aid Agreement following a recommendation from city staff member Tim Sedlacek. The council also voted to enter into a professional agreement with engineering firm JEO for Street CDBG project #23-PWI-012; Carothers said he had reviewed and approved the contract language.
On insurance, the council approved Resolution 2024-01 to remain a member of the League Association of Risk Management (LARM), agreeing to a three-year commitment in exchange for a 5% contribution discount as described in the resolution documents.

The clerk will publish adopted ordinance language and the attorney will prepare necessary ordinance language for the street-vacation item scheduled for an upcoming meeting.
